That Old Tranny Religion!

I am an atheist/agnostic so I’m not sure why Jesus has been on my mind lately, but he has. So many Christian bloggers have written about the sin of being transgender.

God, help us here in America. We have made a total mess of Your plan for us. We have forgotten that without You we are nothing and we have nothing. We have made a mockery of your creation by allowing people to change it completely. We have kept our mouths shut while people openly flaunt what you call an abomination. Help us to speak out against sin and forgive us for the times we have condoned sin by staying quiet. – Jesus Is Lord, A Worshiping Christian’s Blog

Really?

The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.” Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. For some are eunuchs because they were born that way; others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.” – Matthew 19:10-12

Surely Christ isn’t saying we should mutilate his creation!

If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.Matthew 5:29 – 30

But transgenderism is perversion that will only lead to hell! Seriously, I learned it on the internets.

So why are they even having to “consider” what to do about this situation? This is clearly perversion.” – No Religion, Just Jesus

Wait, but Christ said to cut it off if it makes us sin! Maybe he wasn’t really talking about really doing it…

“Origen was a theologian, philosopher, and devoted Christian of the Alexandrian school. He famously castrated himself so he could tutor women without suspicion, and he risked his life countless times in encouraging martyrs.”

But he’s got to be a heretic! Come on Jesus, he cut his junk off!

“By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. – Matthew 7:16 – 20

Hmmm, well let’s take a look at Orgien’s fruit:

He himself was tortured under Decius as an old man and died a short time later. Origen’s controversial views on the pre-existence of souls, the ultimate salvation of all beings and other topics eventually caused him to be labeled a heretic, yet his teachings were highly influential and today he is regarded as one of the most important early church fathers.

I just can’t seem to jive this:

“Churches, for reasons I cannot understand, appear to ignore the power and grace of Christ. Instead they support the supposedly “quick fix” of sex change surgery. Surgery is not the way to recovery but a personal relationship with Christ is, and that comes by turning your life over to Jesus and then placing your identity in Christ, not by giving your life to some surgeon who is done and gone once he gets your money.” – Walt Heyer

with this:

Let no foreigner who has bound himself to the LORD say, “The LORD will surely exclude me from his people.” And let not any eunuch complain, “I am only a dry tree.” For this is what the LORD says: “To the eunuchs who keep my Sabbaths, who choose what pleases me and hold fast to my covenant- to them I will give within my temple and its walls a memorial and a name better than sons and daughters; I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off. Isaiah 56:3 – 5

But I think CaroLines nails why these so-called “Christians” go against scripture:

I think the real reason people discriminate against gays, lesbians, transgender and basically anyone not “like them” is because they’re too lazy. That’s right: lazy.

It takes effort to not discriminate. It takes an effort to say “you know what: we’re in this together. We’re on this little planet, in the middle of nowhere. We need to get along.” On the other, to hate someone for being themselves is quite easy. And any discrimination, any judgment of what’s ‘sinful’ is easy. Condemnation is easy, it’s trivial and requires absolutely no thought. None whatsoever.

Some turn to the Bible and point to the fact that it says “these people are horrible”. What’s so difficult about that? Nothing. It’s so easy, isn’t it? The need to think has been removed, so they don’t. It’s not as if these people relate what Jesus said to the passages they use: that would require effort, and understanding. Which they won’t do because they’re lazy. Too lazy to think about their attitudes.

It’s so easy to condemn others, it’s almost a sport.

Busy-bodies love to pry into what’s none of their business. They have so little in their own lives, they must live vicariously through others. They must pass judgment on their own outrage, the world has to know what makes them unhappy, and that they are unhappy. Happy, content, people don’t care what others do, as long as no one gets hurt. These pessimists, these self-named Christians, who understand nothing about Christianity, seem to hate to see anyone happy. They want you all to be as miserable, and as cowed as they are.

Christ said what the two most important commandments are, and I know a lot of my brothers and sisters keep that commandment every day. When I think about those who are trying to save us, I keep thinking about fruit.

I’ve seen more love and compassion in this community, to fill up 100,000, 000 churches. In the end, that’s all I need to know.
