we picked up a diamondback wildwood bike yesterday at the thrift store for $20.00. it needs some work, like a new chain and tires, but other than that, it seems to work. this is the girl’s version, so now me and the hubby will have matching diamondbacks to ride the streets of phoenix.

so i got this notice in the mail yesterday.

apparently, we have a level 2 sex offender moving into the neighborhood. there was more info inside. this guy apparently “maintained a consensual sexual relationship with two girls, ages 15 and 16, who were known to him”. good to know that he probably would not be interested in a 54 year old. though it never hurts to keep a vigilant eye.

every year, management sends out an employee satisfaction survey. toward the end, i was offered this question. it angered me, so i left it blank. why do they want to know? why do i have to choose?

so i’m driving home tonight on the 202, and this car pulls in front of me and kicks up a small rock. i hear this loud “crack”, and sure enough, it puts a crack right in the middle of my windshield. bastard.

i’ve been listening to traffic’s rendition of john barleycorn and have only now come to understand that john barleycorn is just a personification of the process that barley goes through from planting, to harvesting, to brewing, to replanting, in making beer. probably because i have never paid too much attention to actual lyrics, other than the way they sound, as another music element to a musical piece. go figure.

in my travels, i found the above pictured version of the song, which sounds as if it comes right out of the renaissance faire. love the album artwork as well.

it was nice to be able to find it on itunes. what was not nice, is that the low spark of high heeled boys is only available if you purchase the entire album.

just picked up a copy of x-women from atomic comics today. the artist, milo manara, is pretty well known, especially for his erotic art. i have his tarot card deck the erotic tarot, which is rather, well, interesting. funny that it took so long for x-women to show up as a book, though it appears it’s a one-off.
