the above pictured device has been my constant companion for the past 6 weeks. after i broke my foot, the crutches were really quite uncomfortable, with the chaffing of my underarms, and the hurty on my hands. my doctor recommended i look into renting a rolleraid. at $35 a week, it was pretty steep, but it made all the difference.
today, they picked it back up, as i’m now limping around with the boot. in a way, i was sad to see it go, but i’m happy to be getting around on my own two feet.
we took an early ride over to starbucks this morning. good weather with a mostly cloudy sky made the ride quite comfortable. the new diamondback performed well, though i still want to get new pedals. we changed them to the metal ones, but they don’t work well for me. also the seat needs replacement too – it’s cracking and became hard with age. other than a few other adjustments, i’m quite happy with it.
our friendly barista’s at starbucks noticed our new matching tattoos that we got last saturday for our 5 year wedding anniversary.
so i’m driving home tonight on the 202, and this car pulls in front of me and kicks up a small rock. i hear this loud “crack”, and sure enough, it puts a crack right in the middle of my windshield. bastard.
we took a ride on the phoenix light rail this past weekend. a day pass was only $1.75, and there was quite a bit to see. including pirates in tempe.
the phoenix light rail system is having it’s grand opening today. many special events are scheduled, and the rides are free until the new year. needless to say, it’s packed today, but we stopped by one of the stations to get some pictures of the historic event. oh, and pardon my artistic license with a bit of photoshop on the above image.
when we went food shopping today at fry’s, we saw one of those little smart cars in the parking lot. it’s tiny. and it comes in pink.
it was my 3 year anniversary on wednesday, so we loaded up and headed up to laughlin and the aquarius hotel.

this is the carpet from my honda civic. why, you may ask, is it draped across the back of my husband’s truck? well, there was about an inch of water in places, underneath it, on the floor of my car.
it was raining on the way home tonight. hard. i got soaked walking to my car, and the highway stopped dead about half way home. the road was flooded. actually, i was lucky, i was close to the front row, where everyone decided that the water on the road was too deep to pass. except for a few 18 wheelers. then a few pickups went through. and after waiting there about an hour, i decided to go for it. i believe that if the water was a half inch deeper, i’d still be there. but prayer and luck got me through. and i’m still digging out crud from my front grill and a/c.
i love my honda civic.
in other news, my stomach is still off. the doctor put me on anti-biotics. so i don’t know if i’m still sick, or if my normal reaction to the anti-biotics is what’s wrong. i’ll find out in 5 more days, i guess.
