as i predicted, calpernia did the right thing, and chose shawn as the winner. as far as i’m concerned, he was by far, the best choice. he’s smart, witty, handsome, and tall. in other words, hot. congratz shawn!

now, for the next season, will andrea james find her beau?

i was all set to blast this recap episode as totally unnecessary and a waste of money. i was totally wrong. in addition to providing a nice recap of the best moments of each episodes, the recap offered more in depth interviews with the remaining three contestants, saucy sore loseWeight Exercisers, and additional insight into calpernia’s difficult position in choosing who will win. if you haven’t been keeping up with the series, this episode provides a quick overview of what has transpired so far.

i’ll admit, that mikey is looking better, and i’m beginning to see what calpernia sees in him. i mean, just look at this!

he’s also really confidant, and that’s definitely a turn on. even our host seemed to be falling for him.

i like jim, and he’s really romantic and very sweet. and in a different world, i might just fall for him. but i have to say, not in the same world as shawn.

and as far as i’m concerned, any man who is comfortable enough with himself and his masculinity to cry on national television, is king in my book.

so my original predictions still stand. jim, then mike will go, with shawn winning the competition.

it’s down to the final three. again, as i predicted, calpernia picked shawn first, and then jim. but broke the rules and asked mike to stay as well.

in the immortal words of andrea, “i think shawn is like 10 times hotter than mike”.

after the romantic walk on the beach, and watching the sunset with shawn, i would have kicked the other two out right there. apparently, calpernia enjoyed the night in vegas with mike and his parents, and the dinner with jim and his parents. granted, those two evenings must have been nice, and perhaps that’s why she chose to break the rules and keep all three. but for myself, i’m rooting for shawn. and i can’t wait until the next episode!

and as i predicted, mark is out.

the show is really heating up. i’ve already downloaded the next episode, and will watch it after i post this. regarding who remains after this show, i’m going with shawn and jim. jim, because it’s politically correct, and shawn, because he’s my favorite. i guess i’ll find out in an hour.

either i’m just getting into the swing of things, or the shows are getting better. i downloaded and watched the 3rd and 4th episodes of transamerican love story and i really enjoyed them. the third episode had the men go to the beach and work out with a marine dude, while calpernia watched through binoculars from a yacht. now that’s something i could sink my eyes into. then the guys were divided into 3 teams, assigned a rubber boat, and they raced to the yacht. the winners got to spend a little time with callie.

the fourth episode, calpernia provided a little entertainment first while the guys watched, and then it was the guy’s turn. both revealing engagements.

i’ll say now, and for the record, i predicted who would stay and who would go, even down to the order. and i’ll even venture to say that the eventual winner will be shawn. i like him because he seems to fit in with calpernia’s friends and her nightlife buddies, he’s a real down to earth kind of guy, and he’s tall. my second choice is jim, who also fits in. now mike, who has the hottest body by far, just doesn’t seem to offer the intellectual acumen that i personally look for in a man. and while i see what calpernia sees in mark, who also is extremely hot – well, he’s a bit of a chauvinist, and can’t be over 5’6″. and i’m all about the height.

needless to say, if my hubby were in this show, he’d beat them all hands down

i downloaded and watched the second episode of transamerican love story last night. again, i was fascinated and discomforted at the same time. while i usually avoid these kinds of dating game/reality shows, i can’t look away from this one.

i suppose one of my main issues with this show, is that calpernia doesn’t seem very real with her interactions with the men. it’s as if it’s all poorly scripted with clichés and platitudes. and the “events” in which the contestants are forced to participate seem rather, well, silly. this episode has the men planning and executing a southern-style dinner party for calpernia and her friends. the men are responsible for everything, from planning, purchasing (at a kosher grocery store no less), cooking, and serving the meal, while calpernia and her friends judge the men and the food.

as if one can actually find ham hocks at a kosher food store.

i don’t know, if i were trying to find a mate, the last thing i’d care about would be his ability to plan and cook a dinner party for 20 people. frankly, i’d be more concerned about his ability to love me unconditionally. maybe i’d want to spend time alone with him, which is something that calpernia seems to do little of. she spent a few minutes with two of the guys, but really, the whole thing is just weird.

that said, i’m looking forward to downloading the third episode. they are all going to the beach. finally, an activity that seems like it might be a good idea.
