i just came back from the zombie research society’s phoenix chapter meeting at bookman’s. i had to join. i’m now a lifetime member.

had my annual exam today. i really like this new guy they have, T.J., he’s sincere, gentle, and seems to know his stuff. i was considering changing to a different practice, but i’m very comfortable with him. all looks ok, pending test results. looks like i’ll live.

so i pull into my street tonight on the way home from work, and drive into a war zone. of course, all i had was my cell phone camera, and this was the best pic. there were cops everywhere, in full swat gear, carrying their glocks and ar-15′s. apparently, they were looking for someone. turns out to be my neighbor. at least according to the block gossip. perhaps i’ll read about it in the news. maybe it’s time to move…

according to this article, they are devouring phoenix. i notice a multitude of empty lots in these parts as well.

we took an early ride over to starbucks this morning. good weather with a mostly cloudy sky made the ride quite comfortable. the new diamondback performed well, though i still want to get new pedals. we changed them to the metal ones, but they don’t work well for me. also the seat needs replacement too – it’s cracking and became hard with age. other than a few other adjustments, i’m quite happy with it.

our friendly barista’s at starbucks noticed our new matching tattoos that we got last saturday for our 5 year wedding anniversary.

so i got this notice in the mail yesterday.

apparently, we have a level 2 sex offender moving into the neighborhood. there was more info inside. this guy apparently “maintained a consensual sexual relationship with two girls, ages 15 and 16, who were known to him”. good to know that he probably would not be interested in a 54 year old. though it never hurts to keep a vigilant eye.

so i’m driving home tonight on the 202, and this car pulls in front of me and kicks up a small rock. i hear this loud “crack”, and sure enough, it puts a crack right in the middle of my windshield. bastard.

someone decided to have at it on my hubby’s windshield last night. the police seem to think that it’s because the kids are off for the summer. oddly enough, they were by our neighbor’s house last week, as their car was broken into. and someone also stole a grille from our car port around the same time frame.
i’m getting close to pulling a “clint eastwood”, and hanging in my front yard with my 12 gauge grumbling “get off my lawn”…
