the fab four

after a discussion on facebook about favorite beatles songs – as if that’s even possible – i was compelled to go to iTunes and make a few much needed purchases. hey jude, let it be, and the long and winding road. how is it that i’ve been able to survive this long without owning copies of these great tunes?

lyrics

i’ve been listening to traffic’s rendition of john barleycorn and have only now come to understand that john barleycorn is just a personification of the process that barley goes through from planting, to harvesting, to brewing, to replanting, in making beer. probably because i have never paid too much attention to actual lyrics, other than the way they sound, as another music element to a musical piece. go figure.

in my travels, i found the above pictured version of the song, which sounds as if it comes right out of the renaissance faire. love the album artwork as well.

it was nice to be able to find it on itunes. what was not nice, is that the low spark of high heeled boys is only available if you purchase the entire album.

shiny toy guns

my husband turned me on to this band yesterday by showing me this cool video. love the look, love the sound, bought the single and their album we are pilots from iTunes.

they’ve got everything – guns, vampires, zombies, and rock and roll.

the beatles

at work, we can win points when we perform well, or win contests. i’ve been using mine to rebuild my beatles collection. especially since their music is still not available on iTunes.

shine

and it does shine. i got it today when we stopped by starbucks for a pound of coffee today. i just finished laoding it into my iTunes library, and am bathing in the euphoria that is the genius of joni mitchell.
