the above pictured device has been my constant companion for the past 6 weeks. after i broke my foot, the crutches were really quite uncomfortable, with the chaffing of my underarms, and the hurty on my hands. my doctor recommended i look into renting a rolleraid. at $35 a week, it was pretty steep, but it made all the difference.
today, they picked it back up, as i’m now limping around with the boot. in a way, i was sad to see it go, but i’m happy to be getting around on my own two feet.

it actually feels like thanksgiving here in phoenix. 2 weeks ago it was in the 90′s. today, the forecasted high is 59°. burrrrrr.
8:20 am
i got my cast off today, and the doc gave me a removable boot. i’m walking, slowly at first, but on my own two feet. first thing i did when i got home was washed my leg and foot.
the above picture is a bone scan of my left hip. apparently, i have osteoporosis. so i got a script, and i’ll start taking calcium. it runs in my family, so it’s not surprising. it may have, however, been a factor in breaking my foot in the first place.
so the doctor asked if i still had my ovaries. “it’s complicated” i answered, but i’ve been on estrogen for 10 years. she was satisfied with that answer. need to know, basis…

i meant to post this yesterday but got home from work too late. their webpage moved to facebook. that said, i picked up 1000 rounds of 9mm pmc bronze. hey, it was on sale…
7:12 am
so i pull into my street tonight on the way home from work, and drive into a war zone. of course, all i had was my cell phone camera, and this was the best pic. there were cops everywhere, in full swat gear, carrying their glocks and ar-15′s. apparently, they were looking for someone. turns out to be my neighbor. at least according to the block gossip. perhaps i’ll read about it in the news. maybe it’s time to move…

a limited edition pink kahr p380, featured at the firearm blog, a daily read for me.
a pink (or perhaps raspberry) ruger lcp, featured at oleg volk’s live journal, also a daily read. i like how the pistol appears to be hovering about an inch above the surface of the table. his photo’s are top notch.
i’m not a fan of the .380 platform. personally, i’d rather go with 9mm, as it’s pretty much the same diameter, with a bit more punch to it. further, .380 pistols are usually way to small for me, to maintain any kind of control. perhaps at some point, i would consider one as a back up gun (bug), but my s&w 637 fills that need quite well.
they sure are pretty though.

picked up this motiv groundpounder from the thrift shop for $9.00 a few weeks ago. it needs a little work – broken spoke, flat tires, shifting issues, but we couldn’t pass up buying a bike for that price.

incredibly, each cd just gets better. how does she do it? for this cd, i had to order it online from her site. i missed her last visit to phoenix
