every year, management sends out an employee satisfaction survey. toward the end, i was offered this question. it angered me, so i left it blank. why do they want to know? why do i have to choose?

there was also a question about sexual orientation. i left that blank as well. this company is at the top of the corporate index equity rating from the hrc, so i’m imagining that they just want to determine what percentage of their employee base is other than straight and cis. but i agree, it’s not a question they should be asking. i was offended.
