my new maxpedition active shooter bag. i’m using it as a purse. it holds all the essentials, including knife, flashlight, cell phone, tactical pen, concealed handgun, oh, and it also holds my wallet. there’s many accessories that you can buy that fit into the 2 main areas to help organize your stuff, and it also has outside webbing for attaching additional accessories. another great feature is the waist strap, that provides a second attachment point to your body, beside the shoulder strap. it helps keep the bag in place during active movement, or in case someone tries to snatch it.

 

 

i picked up an inexpensive pink flashlight to complement my collection of all things pink tactical, on my way home from the renaissance faire on sunday. it was cheap enough at $4.99. i don’t like that it uses AAA batteries – i prefer the AA size, but the $4.99 price swayed me.

 

 

certainly, the most useful item i’ve ever come across at the ren faire, my “get out of hell free” card. offered by the infamous silly sisters of sin, shannon o’brian and dana mccain, better known as hey nunnie nunnie, a comedic duo whose show we caught today. probably the best show i’ve seen at any ren faire over the past, um, 25 years.

i think this card will definitely come in handy, especially in light of my previous post.

 

 

i have to say, the new york ren faire opening ceremony was much more elaborate, complete with the sheriff of nottingham and robin hood, sword fighting, the king and queen, and so on. this was mildly entertaining though.

via joe.my.god, i’ve learned that the traditional values coalition is using the “men in dresses” meme to scare people into telling their congressmen to vote against enda. tallulha, in the comments, hits the nail on the head:

yeah, or that we spontaneously sprung up out from the dust, or were living along side the dinosaurs. i’m calling them out on nexy’s law on this one.

 

 

i received my uplula magazine loader from midway on wednesday, along with 3 magazines for my s&w m&p9c, 2 days ahead of schedule. ya gotta love midway. in any event, i loaded up my now 5 magazines using the uplula, and i am very pleased. although the instructions are poorly written and difficult to understand, once i figured out how it works, i can now load mags about twice as fast, and with much less wear and tear on my fingers. i highly recommend it.

 

 

i have a reservation at the range for 2:00 PM today. unlike the last few times i went, i made a reservation to avoid having to wait. this way, i can wait here and blog, instead of walking around the store looking at everything i can’t afford to buy…
