we picked up a bottle of this st germain, made from the blossoms of elderflowers. it’s light and floral sweet taste, somewhere around pears or peaches, is quite unique, not too sweet and not too strong. makes a great mix with 7-up, or by itself, or in a gin and tonic. surprisingly good.

it’s the eighth night, the menorah is lit, against a back drop of a nativity scene and christmas tree. yeah, we’re a family that doesn’t discriminate.

i picked up a used sig p6 last night. i’ve been looking for a single stack 9mm for carry, and this was the best compromise between size, capacity, weight, and price. after a quick cleaning, i took it to the range today, and this was the first shot.
i was very impressed. it fits my hand perfectly, is not too light with its aluminum frame to interfere with accuracy, and is quite comfortable to shoot. here’s my best group.
clearly, the gun is more accurate than i am, and i can definitely see why this gun was chosen by the switzerland and west german police as their primary side arm. a large number was imported last year as those police forces modernized their side arms. my only regret is not jumping on the bandwagon earlier - the prices have gone up from ~$250 since then. i felt lucky to have only spent $350 on this one. i saw one at the gun show last weekend for $450.
the only thing left to do is pick up a few extra magazines, and a holster.

got a bottle for my hubby’s birthday. he’s a fan of absinthe. mixed reviews online. but a pretty bottle, and distilled & bottled in the u.s.a.

i went to the crossroads of the west gun show here in phoenix today. i took me over 45 minutes to get into the show, and i must have walked around for close to 4 hours. i saw few deals, all of which required cash, and i was looking to use a credit card. lots of ammo at the same kinds of pricing you could get around town, but without any limit of how much you could buy. enjoyable, but i left empty handed. i still have my wrist band, so i may yet return.
