i stopped by walmart today and it was like the old days, almost. they had almost every caliber of ammo in stock. i picked up 6 boxes of winchester 9mm, as that was the limit. interesting to note that americans still bought 9 billion rounds of ammo in the past year, 6 boxes at a time. granted, the limits were only put in place by most stores in the past several months.

is this a sign that ammo will become more plentiful and readily available? perhaps, but more likely i just happened to stop by soon after they received their ammo shipment. it does seem that ammo is a little easier to find these days, but i’m not betting on it.

interestingly enough, they had a couple of hand-printed signs stating that gun sales were suspended until further notice. i’m not sure what that was all about.

modern medicine reports that the journal of clinical endocrinology & metabolism has published a set of guidelines for endocrine treatment of transsexual persons. read the abstract here. the article in modern medicine states:

according to this ap article from yahoo, americans purchased 9 billion rounds of ammunition in the past year. it further reports:

The FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System reported that 6.1 million background checks for gun sales were issued from January to May, an increase of 25.6 percent from the same period the year before.

there’s a lot of guns and ammo out there. let the criminals beware.

the hubby and i really like this logo from the patch that david james as colonel kobus venter wears on his arm. i tried to find a better pic, but this was the best one i could find. i drew it freehand in illustrator - it’s pretty close but i’m still looking for a better pic.

the bad news; my throat has been sore for the past couple of days, so badly that i’m having trouble talking. so we went to the doctor this morning.
the good news; i’m apparently somewhat infectious so i’ll be taking tomorrow off from work as a sick day. and the doctor prescribed medicine with codeine in it. i feel like i’m floating…

as a side note, i’m always torn when the nurse fills out the medical history thing. i chose not to say anything about previous surgeries i’ve had, and when asked when my last period was, i responded by saying “umm, that’s a tough one…”. i went to the local urgent care as opposed to my primary doctor who of course knows my medical history.
