i got two new upgrades for my ruger 10/22 rifle recently, neither of which have been installed yet. the first is a simmons 22 mag scope. it’s an entry level model which i got on sale at cabela’s for $39. i wasn’t happy with the red dot sight which is fine for close targets, but my eyes aren’t as good as they used to be for anything over 15 yards or so. i’ll probably install that over the weekend.
next up is a majestic arms alumi-lite barrel which i picked up used from my local firearm message board. they go for $219 plus shipping, i got this one in perfect, never shot condition for $125. since it’s a .920 diameter barrel, like most match grade 10/22 barrels, i’ll need to get an after-market stock before i put it on. so i’l be saving my pennies, and checking the boards for any deals.

entertaining. note to scifi world – i don’t like time travel. give it up already. and where can i get one of those motorcycles?

the afp news service “reports”:
An Australian court has allowed a 17-year-old girl who believes she is a boy to have her breasts surgically removed, it was reported.
they go on to “report” that:
The paper reported the youth, referred to as Alex, suffered from “gender identity dysphoria,” a psychological condition where a person has the normal physical characteristics of one sex but believes they are the opposite gender.
Family Court chief justice Diana Bryant said the court decided to allow the breast removal because evidence from medical experts, Alex’s counsellor and an independent children’s lawyer “overwhelmingly” backed the move.
for the record, i “overwhelmingly” think the afp are “jerks”.
