It’s actually a bit of a disappointment. True, it is very cool, one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen, but it’s what’s nearby that pretty much ruins it. When you come upon Salisbury Plain on the Motorway, it just sort of appears and on the day I was there, it was dark, cloudy and cold, in other words perfect. Anyways, when you park, you have to walk back under the motorway to get to Stonehenge and there it is…the gift shop and hot dog stand. I guess my point is that something that mysterious shouldn’t have any 20th century commerce attached. Still, go if you can.
