just like a woman

i came across this article on the canadian which reviews isis tsunami’s appearance in america’s next top model. this paragraph caught my eye:

Yet while she looks and acts like a woman, which might serve to educate the mainstream as to the difference between a transsexual woman and a drag queen (man in a dress), the question remains as to whether that will help reduce discrimination against transsexual woman — or just raise the bar so that all other transsexual women will have look like a model in order to be seen as a woman.

so, how exactly does a woman act? is participating in a modeling contest “woman behavior”? and do they really think that the mainstream really cares about the finer points that distinguish between a “drag queen” or “man in a dress” (i’m calling them out on nexy’s law for that one) and a “transsexual”?

and really, don’t regular type women have to look like a model in order to be seen as a woman? after all, as much as half of the male population would rather fuck a tranny than a fat woman. and everyone knows that transwomen are just men in dresses.

kinda makes me wonder if half the male population is gay.

  3. Dyss, which question?

Nexy, I also like how the question is framed in such a way that Isis is expected to represent all trans women.

  4. dyssonance asked the question “what is a woman”, or some such variation. i guess it depends on who answers the question.

Male tattoo’s. Leigh’s response was comical, and her avoidance so wonderfully well orchestrated I don’t think even she was able to see it.

The question was “What makes you a woman” — and in the end, the best answer I could come up with “becuase I said so, dammit”, so I figured I should ask others.

On one site, I got a response that essentially was “how dare you question me” –and flamed harshly as a result, lol.

On another, I was told to stop being too damn deep

On another I was told that what makes someone a woman is everyone else treating them that way, in general, and they had damn well better like it.

On one Nexy and I frequent, the responses actually gave it a shot.

I plan to do two more of them.

    “Describe the role of Man”
    “Describe the role of Woman”

Using the same rules I established earlier.

    Should be interesting…
