…at the smith and wesson store. my favorite is the “yeah, i shoot like a girl” tank top. though the extra magazines will come in handy. special thanks to my hubby for letting me go shopping.
and speaking of guns, i got this lovely pin from the pink pistols for getting my ccw permit. i also picked up some new ammo for my smith and wesson 637 revolver.
interestingly enough, finding jacketed hollowpoints for a .38 is harder than it may seem. and they are a bit expensive, at $13.99 for a box of 25. i’ll have to do some searching on the net for better pricing.

this is probably the best marvel comic movie so far. i can see why it enjoyed the 10th-best three-day opening ever for a movie introduction. robert downey jr is a perfect fit for tony stark, the arrogant, rich, genius engineer, with just enough humor to keep the movie in perspective as a comic book story. the effects are great, yet don’t detract from the story line, and i was on the edge of my seat through out. even the music was flawlessly chosen and placed. two thumbs up.

i wonder if they’ll catch the spelling error. and of course, the headline infers that of all his past behavior; he infected her with venereal disease, saw prostitutes, and had a relationship with a transsexual; the relationship with the trans person was the most shameful and humiliating.
in other news, egyptian pharaoh akhenaten was trans. film at 11.

when i was on vacation last week, i attended a ccw (concealed weapons) class at shooter’s world. i opted for the two 4 hour classes, as opposed to the one 8 hour class. there were approximately 18 people in attendance. two of us were women, the rest were men. indeed, on the first day of the class, before the second woman arrived, one of the male attendees remarked that he was disappointed that “only one woman was attending”. i agreed with him.

this is classic, as it perfectly illustrates how trans people are simply not understood. to wit:
When transgendered folks get through the final stage of transitioning and reach “the end”, all that gender fluidity goes right out the window and solidifies into the crusty crud on the bottom of my boots. They have merely succeeded in upholding the gender binary — the very same binary which has held women down for the last 10,000 years.

there is also no corresponding need to switch out body parts in order to express what is basically described as internal character, unless the purpose is merely to commodify one’s personality as a dainty girl might wear pink or a goth craves black. The genitalia have been reduced to the status of wardrobe accessory.
i guess the majority of trans people who never reach “the end”, and never “switch out body parts” don’t actually exist. and the majority of trans people that i know, who are in fact “gender fluid”, don’t exist either.
see, this version of “feminism” uses a few examples of individuals, and applies the characteristics of those few individuals to an entire class of people. i seem to remember there being a word that describes that type of stereotyping.
