the boston globe does a q&a with dr. norman spack, a pediatric endocrinologist at children’s hospital boston. i particularly found this passage encouraging:
IDEAS: You’re involved with a number of Jewish philanthropic groups. How does your faith inform your work with gender-variant children?
SPACK: My own rabbi said it best: The transgendered are also created b’tzelem Elohim, in the image of God.

The way I see it, “Trans” people are a gift… a gift (perhaps?) from God.
Dr, Spack and his Rabbi are A-ok in my book. (Dr. SpOck I want to…. ok shutting up… just like Dr. B. wanted us to. (Let them cry themselves to sleep, eventually they’ll know not to cry. ASSHOLE!!!!)Right… I was shutting up. oops?)
