i came across this post in my travels. there was a time i would have lent my voice to the topic, but i just can’t seem to find the strength. i no longer can find words.
i’d like to thank maia for writing it and little light, Lisa Harney, belledame2222, drakyn, queen emily, and arrogantworm (and others whom i’m sure i missed) for sharing their views, as they have summed up mine better than i could have ever done.
i’m now going to watch the 5th episode of transamerican love story, and lose myself in fantasy and a vodka and limoncello.

Yeah, it was nice to see Maia’s blog entry, but I too no longer have the energy for this stuff. Those who aren’t particularly accepting of trans folk always seem to have the same old, tired, misguided comments to share—over, and over, and over again. It’s pretty exhausting.

it’s encouraging that those of the younger generations don’t seem to suffer from the outright bigotry that some older feminists seem to exhibit. perhaps they see the writings that the older feminists hold dear as outdated and from an earlier era. perhaps when they die off, future generations of trans people will simply be seen as human, and not as a member of “transgender politics”, what ever that means.

Yeah, I admit my energy for it fluctuates a lot.
Also, your quote about the one privilege the oppressed has? That was an amazing statement, and I’m going to find a place to enshrine it.
