frustration

this is how they’d like you to think i am.

this is how i am.

i work in a call center. when you call your service company, remember, i’ll be answering the phone. and remember, i’ve just spoken to some asshole, who made my life a living hell for the past 5 minutes. and before that, another person called who made my life a living hell for the previous 5 minutes. and before that, i spoke to someone who got hung up on, because they made one of my coworker’s life a living hell, who went on to completely screw up your account. and now, i’m left holding the bag.

be kind.

  1. :) I usually flirt with call center folk. :p

But my son works in a call center, so I understand your pain.

  2. actually, callers who flirt with me get extra points. and i reverse those troublesome fees without any reservation.

i find it an interesting dynamic when people call, all bent out of shape, trying to persuade the associate to help them. i’ve always found you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar. being nice goes a long way to getting things done. at least with me. if someone pisses me off, i’m way less likely to want to help them.

  3. I can totally feel with you Nexy. Though is it a bit easier to conceal your frustrations behind being onthe phone rather than the face to face that has to be done in some service areas?

  4. definitely - i’ve been able to process phone calls with tears streaming down my face. i seriously doubt i’d be able to do that face to face.
