When I lived in DC, that was horrible. It slowed traffic down in both directions….

Because despite the fact that we’re caught in traffic, we can’t resist ogling someone worse off than we are at that instant?

when i became aware of your impending appearance here, i commmunicated my misgivings to marti… on issues which i will not exercise here.
after a rather surprising exchange with her, it became clear to me, not only that the association was entirely appropriate, but also that it may well have been inevitable, things being what they are.
who knows? you may even supply an apperently much-needed moderating influence.
