Megan Fox is a Transsexual! Lady Gaga is a Hermaphrodite! Daniel Radcliffe is a Tranny Chaser!

In my search of twitter for transgender/transsexual content for the Transadvocate on Twitter, the tweet: “ZOMG Megan Fox is a transsexual!” comes up repeatedly. The genesis of this meme is from Megan Fox herself:

I am pretty sure I am a doppelganger for Alan Alda. I’m a tranny. I’m a man. I’m so painfully insecure. I’m on the verge of vomiting now. I am so horrified that I am here, and embarrassed. I’m scared.

Another celebrity rumor suggests that Lady GaGa is intersex.  The origin is from the satirical celebrity blog, StarTrash. It joking reports:

It’s not something that I’m ashamed of, just isn’t something that i go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but i consider myself a female. Its just a little bit of a penis and really doesn’t interfere much with my life. the reason I haven’t talked about it is that its not a big deal to me. like come on. its not like we all go around talking about our vags. I think this is a great opportunity to make other multiple gendered people feel more comfortable with their bodies. I’m sexy, I’m hot. i have both a poon and a peener. big fucking deal.

In the case of Lady GaGa, the smear is a snarky joke by a celebrity blog wanna-be. But the quote from Megan Fox is self created. The celebrity grapevine reminds me of the prison grapevine in the movie Johnny Dangerously. The meme starts with a bigoted quote from a star and it’s bounced around the net so many times that the joke is washed from the quote and all that is left is the bigotry, masked as fact. This one from Daniel Radcliffe is early off in the cycle:

The one piece of advice I would give to any actor is, if you want to go out on the street without being recognized, without even being looked at, go out with a 6-foot-8 beautiful transsexual, no one gives you a second glance. Especially when you’re 5-foot-5.

This one will probably morph into a rumor that Daniel Radcliffe has a fetish for tall transsexuals. Isn’t it ironic justice that the stereotypes that celebrities use to smear/objectify transgender people end up boomeranging the star that mouthed it?
